Our goal is to deliver on this commitment by providing unparalleled luxury beauty experiences that enhance confidence and well-being.


Our French Heritage: Dessange's story begins in France, where our founder, Jacques Dessange, revolutionized the world of hairstyling. Born in 1925 in Souesmes, France, Jacques grew up surrounded by the art of hairstyling in his father's salon. He went on to become one of the most celebrated hairstylists of his time, known for his innovative techniques like the "coiffé-décoiffé" and his work with iconic stars.


Legendary Clients: Jacques Dessange's clientele included some of the most iconic women of the 20th century. He famously transformed Brigitte Bardot into a blonde for her role in And God Created Woman, creating the iconic beehive hairstyle that became synonymous with her image. He also worked with Elizabeth Taylor, Marlene Dietrich, and Ava Gardner, Marilyn Manroe among others, solidifying his reputation as the "hairdresser of movie stars" and cementing his partnership with the Cannes Film Festival.

For decades, Maison DESSANGE has been styling the most famous French and international celebrities. It is the beauty benchmark in the world of cinema, and in particular of the Cannes Film Festival as it is the historical Official Partner.

This love affair with the 7th art dates back to the 1960s, when Jacques Dessange opened his salon at 37, avenue Franklin Roosevelt in the heart of the 8th arrondissement in Paris. All Paris smart set then rushed in to attend the inauguration. Corinne de Boissière, press attaché specialized in cinema and future wife of Jacques Dessange, invited a number of first-rate celebrities: Michel Audiard, Brigitte Bardot, France Gall, Mireille Darc, or Jean Gabin...

He naturally inherited the status of being the Stars’ hairdresser and kept this attachment to the 7th art society throughout his career. This passion for the cinema still remains at the heart of La Maison DESSANGE. It is now also the official partner of both the Alpes d'Huez Film Festival and the Lyon Lumière Film Festival.

DESSANGE Paris beauty products

In 2004, the Jacques Dessange brand became the DESSANGE Paris brand and in 2009 hair products were launched for the first time and distributed directly in salons. For the design of its new range, DESSANGE relied on three essential pillars, the very symbols of its DNA: cutting-edge French know-how, innovative formulas and a commitment to women's beauty. They are all designed and manufactured in the Creation and Development Laboratory in Guidel, France.

Every day, Maison DESSANGE takes care of thousands of women in its salons and spas, offering a global dimension to their beauty. The expertise of salons and spas extends to the heart of the product lines where hair care, facial and body care and makeup offer each one a glamour, sensoriality and a professional result.

True to its innovative and pioneering nature, DESSANGE unveiled its new hair range in 2018. DESSANGE has always been concerned about offering innovative products, and is on the wavelength of the current consumer expectations. New range formulas were invented : SILICONE FREE*, SULFATE FREE1 and SALT2 FREE. Hyalauric acid - one of the key active ingredients of the world of care - is systematically integrated, at the heart of the compositions. This molecule can fix and attract up to 1,000 times its weight in water « like a sponge ». In addition to sublimating the beauty of women for nearly 65 years, DESSANGE has always been committed to them. Thus, since 2007 the brand has supported the CEW (Cosmetic Executive Women) and its association « Les Centres de Beauté » which provide hospitalized women with aesthetic care. DESSANGE donates €0.20 for each product sold in the new range to the association.
